Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies

This course is the essential next step for those who have completed Level 2 and are serious about a career in counselling. It helps you transition from basic listening skills to a professional understanding of how therapy actually works.

Through a structured programme, you will move beyond the basics to explore the core theories that underpin the profession. You will develop a more sophisticated ability to reflect on your own experiences and understand the ethical boundaries required to work safely with others in the future.

Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies

Throughout this qualification, I will support you as you move beyond basic skills and start to explore the deeper theories that underpin the profession. We will look at the three main branches of counselling, including Person-Centred, CBT, and Psychodynamic, while focusing closely on your own personal development and self-awareness.

Assessment is based on a series of written assignments and a practical workbook that records your theoretical understanding and reflective growth. You will receive detailed, supportive feedback throughout the course to help you manage the increased academic and emotional demands of Level 3.

This course is the next step for those who have successfully completed a Level 2 certificate and are ready to progress toward a career in therapy. It is designed to prepare you for professional practice, providing the ethical grounding and confidence you need to eventually move onto a Level 4 diploma.

Level 3 Long Term Evening Course

This 39 week course takes place during term time and is designed for those ready to move into a deeper study of counselling theory and personal development.

Course Schedule

  • When: Tuesday evenings (term time only)
  • Time: 6:00pm to 9:30pm
  • Duration: 39 weeks

Advance your counselling journey with this comprehensive certificate. I will support you as you move from basic skills into the study of professional therapeutic theories and ethical frameworks.

Payment Options

  • Upfront Payment: £1000
  • Payment Plan: £1200 total, which includes a £200 deposit followed by 10 monthly payments of £100.

The Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills is the ideal starting point. It is designed specifically for beginners and those with no prior experience who want to explore a career in therapy.

Throughout the course, you will:
• Develop and refine core counselling skills, including deeper listening, empathy, and appropriate responses

• Explore a range of counselling theories in greater depth and understand how they inform practice

• Examine the importance of ethics, boundaries, and the counselling relationship

You will be assessed through written assignments, a group presentation and an observed skills practice.

Must be 18 or over – a level 2, or equivalent in counselling skills is required. Please contact us directly with any prior learning questions.

All deposits are non-refundable. You will be expected to pay in full for the course once commenced and after the cooling off period.

  • L2 – one week cooling off period
  • Level 3 – 2 weeks cooling off period

The journey usually begins with foundational Level 2 and Level 3 certificates. To practise as a professional, you will then need to complete a Level 4 qualification, which includes supervised client work.
